Mark Solomon is an award-winning film editor with more than 30 years in animation, shaping stories for iconic films including Shrek, Chicken Run, Shark Tale, and Frankenweenie. His work has earned nominations from A. C. E., the Golden Globes, and the Academy Awards.

Drawing on decades of collaboration with visionary directors such as Tim Burton, Nick Park, and Gary Ross, Mark now speaks and teaches on the timeless tools of visual storytelling — from contrast and rhythm to Japanese performance principles like Jo-Ha-Kyū and Hana.

Most recently, Mark delivered his signature talk Timeless Tools of Editing at the GBH/MPC Editors Bootcamp in Boston, where his blend of craft, clarity, and humor resonated deeply with emerging editors and seasoned professionals alike.
